Boulder Mountains June '08

One fun quick trip was the Boulder mountains! It's an area that I didn't know alot about, but it proved to be beautiful.

Greg's parents rented a small little forest service cabin for a couple of nights, it was perfect and even had an outhouse out back!!! Greg's brother Nate had a few days off and wanted a fishing trip, so ofcourse we agreed to go with :-) and his parents as well. The first lake we came to we fished for a hour and a half and didn't have a bite or see a fish. So we hiked out to find the other lake near by, couldn't find it. So we headed back to the lake with no fish and when we got there we found the forest service there stocking the lake with fish! It was fun to see them shoot hundreds of fish out of the truck, but I couldn't believe that we fished a lake with no fish in it! So we left to find a lake that hopefully had something swimming in it. We eventually made it to a lake that we did well on. Greg's dad made a killing with the spinner while Greg, Nate, and I got em to take our big bugs from on top. The Next day we went to Pine Creek res. where they have 12-18 in' brook trout. The water was clear and you could see all the fish, but the problem was that they could see you too! We caught two 16 in brook trout, but we definitly had to work hard for them. All in all it was a way fun trip and great to explore places you haven't been.
