Bakersfield, Cali May '08

We took off to Bakersfield , Cali . Greg, Travis, and I headed out to see Jeremy and get a some fishing, camping, and a Doger baseball game in. We went on a couple overnight camping trips in the mountains by jer's house. One was on the Kern river where we enjoyed fishing very high run off waters and the other was... well I don't actually know, but it was sweet! We camped next to a bunch of huge granite boulders (7ft tall and 12-20 ft long and 5-15 ft wide). jer and trav actually caught some small fish in the creek by us. We split the camping trip in half by heading to a Dodger vs Cardnials game sat night. The dodgers lost, but the dodger-dog ($5 hotdog) made it all worth it.
The famous Kern River in Cali! We got to Jeremy's house around 2 the night before then headed out the next day up to Kern valley for a quick overnighter fishing trip. It was beautiful walking through this very steep, granite carved canyon
One of the many fish we caught on that trip!

We raced back that afternoon to head to LA to watch the Dodgers play the Cardinals. Had a great time watching baseball and even grabbed a dodger dog to complete the experience!

The next day after the game we headed out again to sleep on the hard ground. We took a dirt road that turned out to be a big detour, but with the misty rain and giant trees it was quite the experience.

We stopped at the trail of a hundred giants to see the GIANT SEQUOIA'S. I've never been so intimidated by a tree before.

Greg and my arms spand was just barely longer then the width of this fallen giant.

This tree was twice as thick as Trav is long.

Jeremy amongst all the giant granite boulders working his magic with a fly rod.

Our Camp was surrounded by large granite rocks. It also was raining all day so we had our little tarp/ canope to keep the rain off.

The boys made this rock table. "Camping in Style"

Trav fishing for little 4-6 inch Golden Trout.
