Field Work

Great Salt Lake Wetlands

Greg is doing a huge project out in the wetlands this summer. He's been busy getting it all set up and ready for samples. Again, he is collecting data for trace metals and mercury in the area. It's a four part project throughout the summer where they go out for 2-3 days four different times and sample for just about everything you can think of. Greg is in charge and had to set up and organize the whole thing. There is so much prep work that goes into it. It's great and should result into a paper this fall. Speaking of papers, Greg has sent in his first paper to a journal (can't remember the name), a few weeks ago. It takes about 3 months for them to read and get back to Greg about it, so I'll let ya know then whether or not it gets published!

Incorporating ground water sampling too. Bringing wells back from the desert (Pilot Valley where he did his Thesis work) to the wetlands!

One of the reasons we purchased a x-terra was for Greg to do his field work. It has become the work vehicle this year with all his work up the canyons this winter to his work out here in the wetlands.

Greg has been working so hard lately. Long days and long hours. I've been lucky to help him here and there sometimes, starting to become the cheapest assistant ever ;-) He's getting closer though. They already went out and did their first of four research parts last week and just got everything shipped off to Ecuador today. So other then the last minute things he's pretty free till he goes to ecuador.
