Other ... Summer adventures '09

Some of our other date nights were.....

Canoeing on the Jordan River

Hiking and backpacking in the Wasatch Mtn Range

This was a hike up to mt. superior in big cottonwood canyon

Yes, I am acting like I have horns like the mountain goat below and yes, Greg made fun of me before, during, and after the picture ;-)

This was a backpacking trip up big cottonwood canyon to hike two different peaks,
Mt Raymond and Gobblers Knob . We went up Friday night and camped on the saddle of the two peaks. It was so windy that I don't think we really slept at all that night, but it was fun and fun to be out spending time with my awesome husband!

Writing our names in the book of fame, saying we reached the top!

As we camped on the saddle we had this beautiful view of the sunset over Salt Lake Valley with the lake on the right.

Backpacking trip up Bells Canyon, SLC

Again we took off for another over nighter, but this time it was up to a cierque by Lone Peak. We hiked to the summit of Rocky Mouth Canyon Peak.

A battle scar I got on the way, and just to let ya know, the tree definitely won the battle ;-) I still have the scar 7 months later!!!

Oatmeal for breakfast anyone???

We slept under the stars and these huge cliffs that night. It was such a beautiful area! I so want to go back and just take in the beauty that God has created for us to enjoy here on this earth. Amazing.

Island Park, Id

This trip was so much fun and great cause we got to deck out our xterra! There is so much to do up there that we decided we'd take the kayaks and bikes and so glad we did cause we had a blast running the rivers and biking some fun trails

Finally I have some pics of us in our kayaks! Aren't we so cute :-) Thanks to Greg's parents for the pics and shuttle service! Had a great time up there with them and his brother Nate and his two little girls.

Goofy looking picture! So this is the kayaking gear... paddles, life vests, spray jacket that keeps you from getting soaked, spray skirts that close the kayak so no water gets into the boat, and little botties to keep our feet warm! Cute huh, haha. But let me tell you how fun it is to float down a river or across a lake. I recomend it to everybody.
